Miquel Pardo (Barcelona, 1959) is Professor of Composition, Aesthetics and Theory of Music at the Conservatory of Sabadell (Barcelona) and musical critic for a Spanish magazine specialized in music.
During his studies, he was educated in Philosophy and Sciences at the University of Barcelona, as he followed courses on composition and musicology at the Conservatory of Barcelona.
He is working at present in his doctoral thesis of philosophy entitled "The Aesthetics of music as Prima Philosophia".
Throughout his career line Miqual Pardo has been awarded several prizes in various composition contests, both national and international, and he have already 70 musical works in his catalogue. As a philosopher he was awarded in the VIII Prize of Philosophical Essay "Pensa" (2006) by the University of Barcelona with his essay "About the concept of time in Husserl and Heidegger
As a Philosophical practitioner his work line is oriented to find the contact points between music and philosophical practice, what he names as “Philo-musical Practice”.
